Physical Requirements
As a bus driver at Phoenix Residential, you must be able to meet the following physical requirements:
- Safely operate a motor vehicle in all weather conditions.
- Regularly enter and exit a motor vehicle.
- Provide supervision and assist clients with varying levels of disabilities to enter and exit the vehicle.
- Operate motor vehicle passenger and wheelchair restraints.
- Operate motor vehicle wheelchair lift and/or ramp on accessible vehicles.
- Be able to lift up to 50 to 75 pounds.
- Work a variety of time frames, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and rotational weekends as needed.
Prerequisites
To qualify for the position of bus driver, candidates must meet the following prerequisites:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 25 years of age with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- No more than 2 vehicle moving violations within the last 24 months.
- Cannot be on any medications that would prevent driving clients.
- No suspension of driver’s vehicle operator’s license within the last 3 years.
- Must pass criminal, sex offender, and Ohio caregiver background checks.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (training is provided).
